Awareness Week Underway

RAPSIDA's HIV/AIDS Awareness Week in Nyagatare Hotels, Restaurants, and Bars is Underway!

The hotel and restaurant workers who have been trained by RAPSIDA in Nyagatare are now engaging in a week-long HIV Awareness week during which their places of work become the focal point for HIV/AIDS Awareness and information for one week.

The week includes:

  • Peer Education competitions (RAPSIDA's trainees are training their co-workers and clients/public in special sessions held during non-busy hours of the day),

  • The participation of local People Living With HIV/AIDS (speaking during the competitions),

  • Visual and informational materials placed strategically in all participating restaurants

  • And the Badges of Hope, which are being sold, won, achieved, volunteered for, and most importantly, worn and discussed by all workers and the general public.
